On Saturday, July 21st, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Dyer Souther Reunion hosted at the Byron Herbert Reece Heritage Farm. I spoke about my books, our heritage, and the importance of family. Our ancestral heritage is very important to me and my books are a way to preserve this heritage so that future generations know where we came from, our values, and how this area was formed through its culture and the good mountain folks who chose to settle here.
